King Sizwengaye Dumisile Sikhosana: Our Beloved Stylish King

Yes. King Sizwe has a middle name given by his father King Ngidumise. It is mentioned in Chapter 41 when Thembisa’s mother is telling the story of the dead queen and in Chapter 49 when Thembisa time travels back to the past as Nonkosi.

Sizwengaye Sikhosana is the luckiest king so far. This is the only king that lived with Ngidumise as his only family, his only loved son (to be debated) and then conceived him and lived again with him as his father. Basically he lived two lifetimes with him. Sizwengaye got the chance to experience the feeling of pure love - that he was denied in his childhood - in his adulthood. He got the chance to redeem the relationship he had had with his father to something closer and worth everything with his son. His daughter in law, sewed back closed the hole of despair of not having a mother.

It could be debated that Ngidumise didn’t want a woman near Sizwe because he didn’t want a replacement mother for his son. It will still be revealed of course, how the cruel king lived with his son. What we know so far is that he never spoke to him until the day he killed King Bhekizizwe. It could be debated that he didn’t want any influence from his father on how to raise his son because we don’t know as yet, how they continued to live together after Bheki died.

What we do know, King Ngidumise crowned Sizwengaye. He watched him marry. He was there when Nkosinhle was born. He held him in his arms and had him live there for the first years of his life. He had warmth in him. He shared ability with him. Whether it was the knowledge that he was his reincarnate or he would be joining his wife in the afterlife soon. King Ngi might have just loved his son through the pain he was in.

  3. I wish King Sizwengaye had had a better relationship with his son because Nkosi will always question his dad's motives and rightfully so. But the Character development on both of them was so amazing to witness. I also wish he'd actively tried to show that foreign feeling of love to everyone else around him and not just reserve it for Nonkosi especially his wives man. That made me so sad

  4. I love how King Sizwe and Nkosi got closer, but I loved King Sizwe and Thembisa's Fathers friendship even better.
